The MI-Flues System 2 Twin Wall Flue is a high-quality insulated stainless steel chimney system designed to provide a safe, efficient and durable flue solution for wood burning stoves, multi-fuel appliances and other compatible heating appliances.

System 2 is particularly suitable for installations where there is no existing masonry chimney, allowing a complete chimney system to be constructed either internally through the building or externally up the side of the property. Its modular construction means individual lengths, bends, tees, supports, brackets, flashings and terminals can be combined to create a flue system specifically designed for each installation.

The system features a high-grade 316L stainless steel inner liner surrounded by 25mm of high-density insulation and a durable 304 stainless steel outer casing. The insulated twin wall construction helps maintain higher flue gas temperatures, encouraging a stronger and more stable chimney draught while reducing heat transfer through the outer wall of the flue.

MI-Flues System 2 carries European chimney system certification and is designed for the demanding temperatures associated with solid-fuel appliances. With a T450 temperature classification and soot-fire resistant G60 designation, System 2 provides a professional chimney solution for both domestic and commercial installations when correctly specified and installed.

The stainless steel construction also provides excellent durability and corrosion resistance. MI-Flues states a 10-year life expectancy for System 2 and System 21 when the system is correctly installed, maintained and operated within its designated application.

Product Designation: EN 1856-1 T450 N1 D Vm L50040 G60 for System 2 internal diameters from 80mm to 200mm. Larger System 2 diameters from 250mm to 500mm carry an L50050 designation.

Understanding the G60 Classification

The G60 designation is particularly important when designing an installation. The letter G identifies the chimney system as soot-fire resistant, while 60 specifies the required minimum distance of 60mm between the outside of the chimney and combustible materials when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements.

Ideal for Properties Without a Chimney

A twin wall insulated flue system allows a wood burning or multi-fuel stove to be installed in many properties that do not have a conventional masonry chimney. Depending on the property and appliance, the chimney can be routed vertically through the building and roof or externally using the appropriate System 2 components, supports and terminal.

Important Installation Notice: Twin wall chimney systems must be correctly designed and installed in accordance with MI-Flues installation instructions, the appliance manufacturer's requirements and current Building Regulations. The correct flue diameter, overall chimney height, terminal position, combustible clearances, bends, supports and ventilation requirements will depend on the appliance and individual property.

We strongly recommend consulting a suitably qualified stove/flue installer before purchasing components to ensure the correct System 2 parts, diameter and chimney configuration are selected for your installation.

*Compatibility with biomass, pellet, oil or gas appliances must be confirmed against the operating conditions and requirements of the individual appliance. System 2 is intended for dry/non-condensing applications.

**10 years refers to MI-Flues' stated life expectancy for System 2/System 21 when correctly installed, maintained and operated within the designated application. It should not be interpreted as a 10-year product warranty.
